Richard Huish College Sixth Form, Taunton

Richard Huish College is named after Richard Huish who established an educational foundation in
the 17th century which eventually became Huish’s Grammar School For Boys. Since 1979 it has been
a sixth form college. The college is based on a single site, about a mile from the centre of Taunton.
The campus has extensive car parking facilities and provides good access for the disabled.

Classrooms

The college has 37 classrooms and several meeting rooms up to 55 sq
metres which hold up to 25 delegates available for hire evenings from
5pm until 9pm and all day weekends and college holidays. Most rooms
are equipped with whiteboard, OHP, TV, DVD, PC, internet access and
data projectors. Some have smart boards.

IT Suite

There are 7 IT Suites at the college which hold a max of 20 delegates.
As with the classrooms, most rooms have up-to-date facilities including
whiteboard, OHP, TV, DVD, PC, access to the internet and data projectors.

The Main Hall

A large purpose built exhibition space which is used for a variety of stage
performances.
There is seating capacity for up to 270, including use of the balcony.
Based in the Redwood Building (just at the main foyer entrance)
with easy access.

Rowan House

Rowan Suite
This period property has been sympathetically modernised for
business use and can now provide excellent conference facilities
comprising; two fully equipped classrooms with data projector and
whiteboard, a meeting room and kitchen facilities.

Elmfield House

Elmfield Suite
This large Victorian property offers two classrooms and a totally
refurbished IT Suite with 23 brand new, state-of-the-art workstations.
There is also a small meeting room and rest room.
