Richard Huish College Sites

Parents can make a significant and highly valued contribution to the work of the College through becoming a governor.  The Huish board of governors works to ensure that the College meets the needs of its local community and does this through working with College senior managers in the strategic planning and decision-making process.

Being a governor is a rewarding role requiring a strong commitment to Huish.  The board of governors is made up of people bringing together the necessary skills and experience to ensure that the College remains on track.  Some governors come from the legal or accountancy professions, whilst others represent local business or other organisations.  Parent, student and staff members are vital to the membership, ensuring that their perspective and ‘voice’ is represented in planning and decision-making.

If you are interested in becoming a governor, all vacancies are always advertised on the College website.  Any vacancy for a parent governor is always also notified to parents via a letter to the home address.  Alternatively, if you wish to know more about governance, please contact the Clerk to the Corporation at the College who will be pleased to help.
