The textiles course is art based, both courses have elements of drawing, 3D, photography, critical studies and, of course, the practical development of your ideas. Textiles students realise their outcomes in the media of fabric, stitch, weave, knit, felt, print and surface manipulation.
You will need to be open-minded so you can develop your powers of observation, experiment with ideas, explore new techniques and use a variety of media.
You will have the opportunity to visit regional and national art galleries and there is an annual study visit to a major European city.
“You get suggestions for improvement without restricting your ideas.”
“Trips to art galleries were hugely helpful.”
“There is a huge amount of technical support.”
