Geography at A-Level allows you to review those areas that you enjoyed at GCSE in more depth and in a much more analytical way.

Why should I choose Geography?

There will be a range of new topics that will separate GCSE Geography from A-Level Geography

There is a friendly atmosphere in the classrooms and the field trips are both useful and fun

You will meet like-minded people from a variety of course areas, as Geography ties in well with most other subjects

Geography is a subject that is increasingly relevant and it will help you understand the global issues we face

What will I study?

The course will cover both human and physical Geography. This separates out into four topics in the first year and three in the second

The topics are

  • Rivers
  • Coasts
  • Population
  • Change and energy issues
  • Development and globalisation
  • Plate tectonics and hazards
  • Weather and climate

Huish Extra

The course features day trips in the local area to practise field skills and to make the topics you learn about in the classroom more real. In the second year you will have the chance to go on a residential trip, probably to Sicily or Iceland.
