Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

Get out of the comfort zone, stand out from the crowd and don’t just follow the flock!  This highly valued award challenges young people to become actively involved in activities that develop personal fitness and a range of life skills.  Please be aware that expedition places with the college are limited.

Residential Trips

A number of residential trips are available each year and  many subjects offer residential experience to enhance the enjoyment of them and allow practical experience of syllabus work.
SKI TRIP:  We are currently organising a ski trip to Killington, USA in March 2011.  Killington offers a wide range of skiing for all abilities and is well known for its excellent ski facilities, teaching and accommodation.
DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKING TRIP: an opportunity to  experience  mountain biking  in Morocco  is being organised to take place during the  Easter holidays 2011.

Learn to Sail – July 2011

This course is run during personal Development week in July and costs £150.  It takes place at Durleigh Reservoir, Bridgwater and leads to the RYA level1 or level 2 Young Sailors qualification.

Environment Group – LEAF

A chance to meet up one lunchtime a week to try and promote ‘green issues’ in college such as: recycling, Fair Trade and conservation.  We run awareness raising events throughout the year and go out to do some conservation work when we can.
The only requirement is enthusiasm!
