The Employer is an essential role to ensure the success of the Huish Apprentice. You will provide in-house support and relevant work placement to accompany the College training package. You will provide a contract of employment (usually fixed term) for the duration of the Apprenticeship. The Huish Apprenticeship team can support with this by providing examples of fixed term contracts to use as an outline. On average a Huish Apprenticeship will last approximately 12 months. The national minimum wage for an apprentice aged under 19, and those over 19 in the first year of an apprenticeship, is £2.50 an hour. This applies to time spent working and training. Employers can pay above, but not below, the minimum wage. Most employers tend to pay a little more than this, because the calibre of applicants is so high.
