Disabilities and other medical conditions
The college takes seriously your requirements if you have either a visible or hidden condition which may affect not just your study but any other aspect of college life. Inclusion is paramount but we do need you to disclose any information concerning any condition so that we can help you to the best of our ability.
The easiest way to disclose prior to enrolment is to fill in the disclosure form issued with the college application form. Our Additional Needs Co-ordinator is available to discuss and put in place any specific requirements you may have and may even visit you at your current school to talk about your transition to college.
The Additional Needs Co-ordinator will also be responsible for arranging any specialist loan equipment or exam requirements you may have whilst studying here.

Counselling
Counselling is available for students who are experiencing difficulties and worries in their lives and would like to explore this in counselling. Lots of people seek counselling because they are feeling stressed, angry, sad, low, tired, depressed, lonely… there are many and varied reasons.
The college counselling service is staffed by a team of trained counsellors who are experienced in working with young people and who are able to offer confidential help to students who self-refer or who are referred on by members of staff.
Counselling can be accessed via Student Services or by asking the tutor to make a referral. An initial meeting will clarify what kind of help can be offered and whether counselling at college is the right way forward. Counselling is usually offered on a time limited basis for about six sessions but can be
extended if needed.
Specific learning difficulties
A dedicated team of specialist staff offers a programme of regular 1:1 support to students with a range of specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia. The support is tailored to individual needs and, where appropriate, may include full assessments, exam access arrangements, specialist equipment and software.
