We have a passion for learning and want everyone to be able continue to advance their skills throughout their life; we offer a number of short courses, qualifications and Apprenticeships designed to support you throughout the length of your career. Many people don’t realise that they can complete qualifications whilst in an existing position, so whether you are looking for a career change or just in need of your next challenge give us a call to see what options are open to you.
Our team are keen to support local businesses and we work closely with employers to help them create bespoke training programmes for their workforce. We can guide you on all aspects of your employees’ development and update you on important legislation related to their training and any current issues that may be of interest to your business.

Whilst our offering is constantly changing depending on businesses’ needs, here are some of the common areas in which we support learners and employers:
- AAT & ACCA Accountancy qualifications
- Functional Skills qualifications for those looking to improve their Maths and English grades
- Careers in Education
- Careers in Health Care
- Careers in Health and Social Care
- Business and Management
We offer qualifications in a number of formats:
Mathematics and English skills are desired in a great range of jobs. We can help you to improve in these areas and to gain a Functional Skills qualification in English or Maths to evidence your competency. Level 2 Functional Skills is commonly recognised as an equivalent for GCSE grades. Functional Skills qualifications are available to learners aged 19 years+. If you do not already hold a relevant GCSE Grade to the level you study then qualifications may be fully funded.
Apprenticeships are by no means just for those starting their careers, whatever level you are currently at you can commence an Apprenticeship that will build upon your skills and earn you an accredited qualification. At Huish you will find Apprenticeships up to Level 7, some of these can be started without prior qualifications, others will build upon your existing qualifications, our team can help you identify the right Apprenticeship for you. Visit our Apprenticeships section for more information about our Accountancy and Teaching & Learning Apprenticeships.
These distance learning courses assist employees working in Care, Health & Social Care and Business environments to achieve nationally recognised qualifications to further their development in their own time. For the majority of these courses you must be 19 years + and have lived in the EU for 3 years. They are typically Level 2 qualifications.
You can study part time or through distanced learning to earn an accredited qualification (options available vary across qualifications). Our lessons are taught in small groups so you can access personalised attention, ask questions and build rapport with your tutor. Tutors are also available for support and problem solving on a drop-in basis. If you are interested in Health and Social Care, Teaching and Learning or Accountancy we have opportunities waiting for you.

I just wanted to say thank you to you all for getting me my qualification. I’m very happy with where I’ve got to and feel like I’ve learnt so much in the past few years. If I do another course I wouldn’t hesitate to use Richard Huish.
