Level 2 Courses
Vocational Level 2 Study Programmes and GCSE resits
Vocational Level 2 courses are for full time students who have taken a full programme of GCSEs. You select a Vocational Level 2 qualification, can resit GCSE English and/or Maths and partake in Enrichment activities within your Study Programme.
These one year Study Programmes provide a progression route to further Level 3 study, to an Apprenticeship or into employment.
These one year courses are aimed at those students who wish to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work related context. The teaching team create a series of relevant assignments, which can be written or activity based, offering variety to your learning. The format of the assignments are varied and could include activities such as creating a film clip, planning a presentation, creating a business plan or writing a report. The assessments are completed thorough a combination of internal and external assessment. There are opportunities to develop your skills in English and Mathematics and these are indicated in the units where appropriate.
I have been enamoured by the amount of aid I have been offered even outside of lessons. The Tutor sessions given each week are a well-executed method of making sure every student is up to date on work and also provide help if anyone feels they are out of their depth or have any personal issues that they would like to be covered.

You are able to resit GCSE English and/or Mathematics and upon completion of your Level 2 Study Programme can progress onto a Level 3 Study Programme, Apprenticeship or into employment.
I started off doing Level 2 Media at Huish and proceeded onto the Level 3 course. I really enjoy the subject but I particularly enjoy the practical aspects of the course. The support I received from Huish in the form of my lecturers has helped me to be able to achieve so much more than I thought. My plans for when I leave College are to get an Apprenticeship within the media industry and go on to work for the top media companies in the UK. Doing Digital Media at Huish has really got me interested in something that I feel passionate about and that I feel I have a future in and can continue to learn and grow within the industry.
