Joining us from outside the UK
Huish attracts students from all around the world by providing young people with exceptional opportunities and pastoral support, without charging tuition fees.
We offer over 50 courses, giving you a wider choice of subject options than you’ll find in most Independent Schools, and as a Sixth Form College, we are entirely centred around supporting students entering young adulthood.
Pairing our Study Programmes with our great range of enrichment activities will provide you with the skills you need for life beyond Huish and an exciting experience in the UK.
Diversity is celebrated well here, and students from different cultures integrate well together. Many students visit from overseas and relish sharing in each other’s traditional festivities.
Huish is an ideal educational choice for those who meet the funding criteria of the Educational Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
You can find more details about eligibility to study at Huish below but we regularly attract service families in receipt of Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA), and British National (Overseas) (BN(O)s) from Hong Kong, amongst others. Our mix of international students adds something special to our diverse culture here at Huish.
We are aware that studying far from your current home may seem daunting, but our team will support you with your application and as you settle into life in the UK.

Study Programme Options
There are two types of Study Programme you can choose from.
Option 1) On the Level 2 Pathway you have the opportunity to study GCSE Maths, English Language, Science, and other Level 2 qualifications.
This is a one year Study Programme that will prepare you for our Level 3 Study Programmes.
Option 2) On a Level 3 Study Programme you select a combination of three A Levels/Vocational Extended Certificates, or a singular Vocational Extended Diploma.
This two year Study Programme will provide you with the qualifications needed to apply to university.
Level 3 Entry Requirements
The standard entry requirement for all students (UK and International) for our Level 3 Study Programmes is five GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C), including Maths and English Language/Literature. Some courses will list additional requirements.
If you have not taken GCSE/IGCSEs, we will use the ECCITS website (formerly UK NARIC) to establish education comparison if you are applying with other qualifications.
If English is your second language, you may also be required to take an English Language exam to support your application e.g. IELTS.
Further guidance will be provided following your application during your Advice and Guidance session (interview).
Important Information
Please note that ESFA guidance states that you need to demonstrate GCSE Level Maths and English at a pass (grade 4 or above) to secure funding.
If you have not completed GCSEs in your home country, you will be required to take GCSE Maths and English alongside any Study Programme.
