Former Richard Huish College student, Libby Holcombe, has been nominated for CACHE ‘Learner of the Year’ at their Aspiration Awards following her exceptional work on the Childcare & Education course. She was nominated for showing resilience, determination, and considerable progression during her time at Huish.

When asked about her nomination Libby commented “it is nice to know I stood out after working hard throughout the course”.

Libby completed a placement at Brook House Day Nursery during her course and is now working as a Nanny to gain the two years work experience required to enter a Play Specialism.

Childcare & Education Teacher, Gemma Lyons shared “Libby was an exceptionally well organised and hardworking young woman. Throughout the pandemic, in addition to college, she continued to attend and support her work placement. They offered her employment, alongside this she was offered a job to be a Nanny for a local family of GPs, who have three children aged 2,4 and 6. Being a Nanny was Libby’s goal and she was thrilled with this opportunity to put her licence to practice as an Early Years Practitioner.
