Our timetable is set so that students aim to qualify in just over three years. There is no particular best order in which to tackle the skills exams and they do not have to be undertaken chronologically. We alternate the subjects we offer at skills level annually, for example we will offer TX (Dec 22 sitting), PM (Mar 22 sitting) & LW (Jun 22 sitting) in 2022/23. All professional exams are offered each year.
In order to achieve an appropriate balance between employer and student needs, our classes run from 1.45pm – 7.45pm one day a week.
The course at Huish is taught by qualified experienced Accountants/Tutors giving pass rates that always exceed the national averages; up to 100% on some units. In addition to passing exams, you will need to complete an Ethics and Professional Skills module.

How will I be taught?
Teaching is by lectures with worked examples and hands on practice.
When can I start?
Students may start in early September or December.
What is day release?
Day release is ideal for those who prefer the discipline of weekly classes with face to face tutor contact. There is a set timetable of teaching and exams and students generally complete their qualification with better pass rates and more quickly this way. A ‘day’ typically runs from 9am – 2pm and there is still an expectation that students will do some work at home to embed learning and revise.
How much work will I need to do at home?
This varies but we suggest in the region of 12-15 hours a week on average on top of the lesson with a higher proportion being in the few weeks preceding an exam.
What progression opportunities are available?
Once qualified, ACCA members advance to senior financial and management positions with strong earning potential. In addition to accountancy and tax practice, you will have the choice of working in many different financial roles within a variety of private and public sector organisations.
