ADULT CARE AND LEAD ADULT CARE WORKER APPRENTICESHIP

The Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship is aimed at learners wishing to work in health and social care. The course will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in a variety of health and social care settings.
The Lead Adult Care Apprenticeship is aimed at individuals that already have experience and knowledge within care or are in a senior role within a care setting and are wishing to progress in care.
Throughout the programme you are required to work alongside other professionals to develop your practical skills and knowledge. All learners will have 1:1 support from a qualified health and social care assessor.
The typical duration of these apprenticeships are 18 months and the qualifications achieved are:
- Level 2 – Care Certificate and Level 2 Diploma in Care
- Level 3 – Care Certificate and Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
Once the qualification element of the apprenticeship is completed, you will be expected to prepare for End Point Assessment. If required, functional skills will be completed during your apprenticeship programme.
This course can be delivered in the workplace or can be delivered through day release.
Those who have completed the Level 2 in Adult Care can progress to the Level 3 Lead Adult Care Diploma/Apprenticeship. With other progression routes including the Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care or Level 5 Diploma in Adult Care or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care.
There are no official entry requirements.
Good communication skills are a must with a passion to learn.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills are essential.
How will I be assessed?
Learners will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence and be observed in the workplace.
