The Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship is aimed at learners wishing to work in Health and Social Care and will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in a variety of settings.

Care Apprenticeships can be completed in the following Health and Social Care sectors; elderly, learning disabilities, mental health and rehabilitation. Possible duties will be supporting individuals with their personal care needs, food and drink and day-to-day activities

Throughout the programme you are required to work alongside other professionals to develop your practical skills and knowledge. All learners will have 1:1 support from a qualified Health and Social Care assessor.

The typical duration of the Apprenticeship is 18 months and you will be working towards a Care Certificate and Level 2 Diploma in Care.

Once the qualification element of the Apprenticeship is completed, you will be expected to prepare for an end point assessment. If required, functional skills will be completed during your Apprenticeship programme.

This course can be delivered in the workplace or can be delivered through day release.

There are no official entry requirements. Good communication skills are a must with a passion to learn. Basic numeracy and literacy skills are essential.

How will I be assessed? 
Learners will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence and be observed in the workplace.

What progression routes are available?
Those who have completed the Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship can progress to the Level 3 Lead Adult Care Diploma/Apprenticeship.
