BOOK-KEEPING

EXAMINING BOARD: CPD

This course is run in June/July for a morning a week for 5 weeks and is aimed at learners with little or no book-keeping knowledge.

You will spend 20 hours in the classroom and 20 hours completing home study. The course includes a bespoke introduction to bookkeeping covering the following:

  • An understanding of double entry bookkeeping (debits and credits)
  • Processing sales invoices, purchase invoices, cash payments and cash receipts to the relevant accounts
  • VAT bookkeeping
  • Production of a trial balance, Profit Or Loss A/C and Balance Sheet for a small business
  • Correction of errors (journals)
  • Bank reconciliations
