Health Care Support (Level 2 & 3)

If you are interested in a career in health care such as nursing, ODP, assistant practitioners, paramedics or midwifery, then this apprenticeship will provide you with invaluable experience.

In this role (at level 2 & 3) you will provide integral assistance to health care professionals that diagnose, treat and care for patients.

You may be working in a variety of clinical services e.g medical, surgical, critical care, outpatients, community and A&E.

You will be involved in looking after the wellbeing and comfort of patients. Clinical duties may include monitoring patients conditions and supporting people to meet basic care needs.

At level 3, you will also be taking physiological measurements and carrying out more complex clinical tasks e.g. routine ECG procedures, wound care or catheter care.

To do this course you need the following:

  • Basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
  • Be willing to undergo Disclosure and Barring Service checks
  • For level 3, preferably a level 2 qualification has already been achieved.
