COMBINED SCIENCE (TRILOGY)

LEVEL 2: GCSE

EXAM BOARD: AQA 

This course is the core component of the Level 2 Science Pathway, and studied alongside two other GCSE/Vocational courses. This one year course will help you prepare for a Level 3 Study Programme and to pursue a scientific career.

The covers key concepts in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will develop your scientific understanding through theory and practical work.

  • Atomic structure and the periodic table

  • The rate and extent of chemical change
  • Organic chemistry
  • Chemical analysis
  • Chemistry of the atmosphere
  • Using resources

Physics

  • Energy
  • Electricity
  • Particle model of matter
  • Atomic structure
  • Forces
  • Waves
  • Magnetism and electromagnetism

You will have six exams each 1 hour 15 mins in duration.

You must be aged 16 years+ to complete the Level 2 Pathway.

The standard entry requirement is a GCSE profile of grade 3s however the programme is also aimed at students who haven’t had the opportunity to sit GCSE’s, this could be for several reasons which could include students who have been homeschooled.
