COMBINED SCIENCE (TRILOGY)
LEVEL 2: GCSE

This course is the core component of the Level 2 Science Pathway, and is studied alongside two other GCSE/Vocational courses. This one-year course will help you prepare for a Level 3 Study Programme and to pursue a scientific career.
The course covers key concepts in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will build your knowledge and understanding of science whilst also developing your practical skills. You will grow in confidence as a scientist, ready for Level 3 study.
You will have the opportunity to take part in science enrichment activities and trips. You may also choose to complete a Youth Stemm Award alongside your studies.
After completing the course, you will be prepared for Level 3 study; students progress onto A Level sciences, BTEC Applied Science Extended Diploma, and other Level 3 programmes at Huish.

You will have six exams, each 1 hour and 15 mins in duration.
You must be aged 16 years+ to complete the Level 2 Pathway.
The standard entry requirement is a GCSE profile of grade 3s however the programme is also aimed at students who haven’t had the opportunity to sit GCSEs, this could be for several reasons which could include students who have been homeschooled.
