Your digital career starts here by studying the fast moving technology sector and preparing for its exciting career prospects.

You can study Digital Technologies on our Extended Certificate or Extended Diploma courses. You may have enjoyed GCSE Computer Science at school and be ready to soley focus on preparing for your digital career, in which case the Extended Diploma is for you.  Alternatively you may have never studied an IT or Computer Science qualification before but know your future will involve working with technolgy, in which case the Extended Certificate course is for you.

The Extended Certificate should be studied alongside a minimum of two other subjects (either A Level or Extended Certificate qualifications) to create your Study Programme. This course goes well with many subjects, including Business, Economics, Accounting, Media and Graphic Design.

Units of study on the Extended Certificate course include:

  • Information Technology Systems
  • Creating Systems to Manage Information
  • Using Social Media in Business
  • Website Development

Two units are assessed by examination and two are internally assessed.

The Extended Diploma is equivalent to 3 A Level qualifications and therefore fulfils the core component of your Study Programme and you are not required to study additional subjects.

To study for the Extended Diploma you should already have a strong interest in IT/Computing and be certain of eventually progressing into it as a career.
