The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training prepares individuals to teach in a range of contexts (excluding primary and early years).
There is a requirement for a minimum of 100 hours of practice as this qualification will assess, and provide evidence of, competence when undertaking teaching and/or training responsibilities.
You will have to evidence working with groups of learners through a minimum of 8 observations, totalling a minimum of 8 hours to achieve this qualification.
This qualification aims to meet the needs of a range of individuals, such as:
- Individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements.
- Individuals who are currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training).
- Individuals who are currently working as Assessors/Teaching Assistants (secondary and post 16) and who wish to achieve a teaching qualification.
Duration: 12-14 months
Required to attend taught sessions one evening per week (4.30-8.30pm) in Taunton.
This qualification can also be completed through an apprenticeship.
