About the Course

You will enjoy this course if you like reading and writing.  We explore how the English language has developed over time, including online and social networking, how children learn to talk, how words have come into being and much more.

English Language will provide you with the analytical approach to the study of language, including work on grammar.

We encourage students to get involved in writing for the College magazine and for the prestigious Brunner Prize creative writing competition and to work on getting published outside college.

A Level English is offered as a two year programme with the Oxford & Cambridge exam board.
