FUNCTIONAL SKILLS (ENGLISH)
LEVEL: 1 & 2
EXAMINING BOARD: PEARSON EDEXCEL
TYPE OF STUDY: PART-TIME
Functional Skills English is designed to help you improve your English skills to support you in your career and daily life.
We offer a flexible approach where learning is centred around you as the learner and your previous skills and knowledge. Tuition is available via remote online sessions, drop-in classes and/or 1-to-1 tuition at College, or in your workplace. We design our individual packages to best meet your needs and circumstances as a learner.
From the outset of the course we will complete an assessment of your current skills, which will inform an individual learning plan that you and your Tutor will work through to prepare for your final exams. Your exams/assessment will be sat ‘when ready’, meaning when you feel capable we will agree a suitable exam date with you. Exams can be completed either on paper or on-screen and conducted throughout the year.
Learners must be 19 years+.
If you do not already hold a relevant GCSE Grade E/2 in English this qualification can be fully funded.
