About the apprenticeship

Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care

The Level two Diploma in Health and Social Care will help you to gain the skills and knowledge you need to be able to deliver high standards of care. It is aimed at individuals working with adults and children across all social care settings. The qualification also provides the opportunity to follow specialised pathways for learning disabilities and dementia.

What will I study?

Candidates complete nine mandatory units and then can select optional units relevant to their work role. All units have a credit value allocation and to achieve the level two candidates need to attain a minimum of 46 credits.

The Mandatory Units cover the following areas:

• Communication

• Personal Development

• Equality and Inclusion

• Duty of Care

• Safeguarding and Protection

• Roles and Responsibilities

• Person centred approaches

• Health and Safety

• Handling Information.
