MATHEMATICS
LEVEL 2: GCSE
EXAMINING BOARD: PEARSON EDEXCEL
This course is typically taken as part of the Level 2 Pathway, and studied alongside two other GCSE/Vocational courses for a duration of one year. The Level 2 Pathway will help prepare you for a Level 3 Study Programme and to pursue a range of careers.
We maintain small class sizes (average 16 students per class) and will support you throughout the qualification.
The course begins with the nine fundamentals in mathematics, alongside exam skills and preparations. A large amount of the course is diagnostic based, allowing you the time to work on your weaknesses and misconceptions.
The majority of students opt to sit the November exam series after discussions with their Teacher. Alternatively you have the option to sit the June exam series at the end of the academic year.
Both involve three papers, one calculator paper and two non-calculator papers.
You must be aged 16 years+ to complete the Level 2 Pathway.
The standard entry requirement is a GCSE profile of grade 3s however the programme is also aimed at students who haven’t had the opportunity to sit GCSE’s, this could be for several reasons which could include students who have been homeschooled.
