This course can help you take your first steps towards a career in supporting the public. You’ll learn the essential skills for a wide range of careers, from the armed services and police force to roles at local authorities and central government. You can also take part in enrichment activities within your Study Programme.
This one year course is aimed at those students who wish to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work related context. You will learn skills such as team work, meeting deadlines, organisation and research. Taken as part of a balanced curriculum, this course provides a tried and trusted progression route to further study, to an Apprenticeship or into employment.
The teaching team create a series of relevant assignments, which can be written or activity based, offering variety to your learning.The assessments are completed thorough a combination of internal and external assessment. There are opportunities to develop skills in English and Mathematics. These give learners the opportunity to practise essential skills in naturally occurring and meaningful contexts.

To study this course you will need GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 3 or above plus a range of GCSEs at 3/4 grades.
