This Apprenticeship is for anyone looking to work in a Health Care profession whether that be assisting in theatres, Nursing, Midwifery or in similar roles.

If you are looking to gain some hands on practical experience before university, or considering a change of a career, this Apprenticeship can suit your needs.
As part of this Apprenticeship you will work in a clinical setting such as medical centre, surgical centre, critical care unit, in theatres or on a maternity ward.
Your duties will involve looking after the wellbeing and comfort of patients. Possible duties will be supporting people with their personal care needs, monitoring patient’s conditions, taking physiological measurements and more complex clinical tasks such as routine ECG procedures, taking blood, wound care or catheter care.
The Level 3 Apprenticeship typically takes 18 months to complete and can be delivered within the work place or through day release. Upon completion you will receive a Care Certificate and Level 3 Diploma in Health Care Support.
Once the qualification element of the Apprenticeship is completed you will be expected to prepare for an end point assessment. If needed functional skills will be taken during your Apprenticeship programme.

The course fits in well with my busy life as I am still able to work 3/4 nights as the Night Shift Supervisor as well as complete my coursework and be assessed in the work place for practical units.
