I chose Level 2 Sport as my goal is to be a professional cricketer. The course is perfect for people that are passionate about sport and want to develop personal skills for the future. I enjoy the way the course taught, it’s not just sitting around a table, and we have practical lessons to help us develop our coaching and leadership skills with multiple trips out and around Taunton. Everyone at the College has been really supportive of me especially my teachers and tutor. I didn’t really know anyone when I came to Huish but everyone is so friendly and helpful. It is a great college to go to.

This course can help you take your first steps towards a career in sport and fitness. You’ll learn essential skills such as training and personal fitness, encouraging sports participation and organising and leading events and activities. Units offered include:

  • Leading Sport Safely and Effectively
  • Working in Sport and Activity Leadership
  • Leading Sport and Physical Activity
  • Coaching Sport
  • Developing Skills for Sport and Activity Leadership

You can get the work done easily if you put the time and effort in. It’s not a stressful environment, it only gets hard when you have a build-up of work to do so doing the work before hand is always helpful. The teachers a nice and straight forward, they don’t shout or complain because at the end of the day it’s our course so it’s down to us on what happens. I played rugby for the College. It’s all around a good course and it’s nice if you want to do level three because it leads to it quite nicely.
