LEVEL 2: PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

Could you support school staff who teach children over 5 years of age?
This course will introduce you to the knowledge and understanding needed to work in a school or college environment and can support a variety of roles; administrator, volunteer, learning support assistant, classroom assistant, technician and other support staff positions
The course is free if you have lived in the EU for 3 years and are aged 19 years or above at the beginning of the academic year.
We will support you to find a placement in an education setting and you can complete the course materials online as a distance learner. You also have the option to attend twilight sessions on the campus.
Your Tutor will support you throughout, either by email correspondence or in person depending on your preference.
This qualification will take approximately 6 months to complete.
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board.
The qualification will be fully funded (free to you) if you meet the following criteria:
- You must be aged 19 years or over at the beginning of the academic year
- You must permanently reside in the UK
- You must have lived in the EU/UK for 3 years
- You must earn less than £25,000 per annum.

You will need to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Your placement may offer the opportunity to progress onto a Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning which shares two mandatory units.
