A team leader/supervisor is a first line manager with operational and project responsibilities, and responsibility for managing a team, providing direction and guidance to achieve set goals.
This apprenticeship has been designed for those who have just moved into a relevant position, as well as for those who may have experience but wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills.
Throughout this 12-18 month programme, you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to become an effective team leader or supervisor, gaining the embedded qualification, until you finally showcase your competence in an industry designed endpoint assessment.
Studying at Richard Huish College, as part of the apprenticeship, you will work towards achieving the ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers, which has been designed by ILM to fully incorporate the essential knowledge and skills developed throughout the programme.
You will spend 20% of your working hours in study throughout the apprenticeship in order to develop the knowledge and skills needed in this L3 programme.
You will develop your skills across a range of competency areas including in leading and managing people, building a high performing team through effective communication, coaching, motivating and supporting team members to achieve against operational plans. You will demonstrate your ability to build effective relationships, manage project delivery and effective budgetary controls. You will demonstrate resilience, flexibility, inclusiveness and professionalism to set an example for your team.
