Richard Huish College is one of the leading inspected state Sixth Form Colleges in the UK and regularly ranked amongst the best state colleges nationally for A Level results. As a Tier 4 Sponsor with UK Visas and Immigration we welcome applications from around the world so come study at our elite English college alongside British students.

We fully understand that choosing to study in a different country, often far away from home is a huge step. My team and I, together with your parents and agents, will help you with the application process, applying for your visa if needed, settling in to life in our boarding house or with a home stay family and finally, being a happy and successful student. I have no doubt that you will make friends for life and have many happy memories of your Huish days as you progress to university.

Simply as a set of headline figures our Advanced Level results are some of the best of any Sixth Form College in the country.

The Huish Class of 2020 faced unprecedented times with the whole examination series being cancelled and students instead being awarded Centre Assessed Grades by their centre, however despite this Huish consistently achieves results above the national averages at A Level and equivalent qualifications. In 2019 at A Level they achieved an A* to B pass rate of 53%, and an A* to C pass rate of 78%. The overall A Level pass rate was an outstanding 99%. Of the students that took Vocational Extended Diplomas, 53% of grades achieved were the very highest Distinction or Distinction*. The highest achiever in 2020 was Dak Dakshesh with 5 A*’s for Chemistry, History, Mathematics, Physics and EPQ.

If you are hard working and ambitious you should explore the idea of joining us. We have an enviable reputation in the local area built upon a long history of excellence. We want to help you be the best you can be and reach your potential.

Your Homestay family will welcome you to the UK and give you a truly unique experience of British culture and family life. Living with a UK family will not only provide you with security and support but will also help you to learn a new culture and improve your English language skills. Please read our Statement of Home Stay Accommodation Aims and Values document.

It’s been an amazing experience to live with and be part of an English family, sharing experiences of their culture. I felt very welcome from the first day I arrived and we did lots of enjoyable things together like playing board games on Sunday, watching films at night, shopping, eating out, walking or going to the beach. I have a cosy bedroom and the rest of the house is really English. I enjoyed every single moment in these two years and the food is absolutely delicious.

Ariel , Hong Kong student in Homestay accommodation

Ariel is like one of the family now. She is like a big sister. She’s the best friend in the world and she has taught me so much. She does so much with me and always enjoys just sitting down on the sofa whilst relaxing. She constantly remains a good friend.
