Eleven Richard Huish College students recently joined Course Manager for Chemistry, Joanna Clare at North Town Primary School to run Science Workshops for the Year 5 pupils of the Richard Huish  Trust.

The students, who study a variety of Level 2 and 3 Science courses (mostly combining Natural, Earth and Social Sciences within their Study Programmes) are working towards achieving their Bronze Youth STEMM Awards.

They pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones to help choreograph the workshop that involved the younger pupils completing chemical reactions in test tubes. The Huish students also presented a PowerPoint presentation and took part in demonstrations.

Joanna Clare commented “They were kind and supportive to the Year 5 pupils and represented the College as excellent role models. They are all working towards a Youth STEMM Award this year and this contributes to their strand on ‘Inspiring the Next Generation’, they did a grand job!”
