Accommodation

Here at Richard Huish College, we have two options for accommodation when choosing to study with us.

Oak House Accommodation

Oak House is our purpose built student accommodation which opened in September 2017. This house offers our students a more independant living experience in preparation for university life and beyond.

This student accommodation is walking distance to Huish, allowing for easy access into college life, both academically and socially.

Oak House offers a fantastic communal area and living space downstairs, and has both single and twin bedrooms. All rooms are en-suite, meaning you have your own bathroom (toilet, sink and shower). With each room you will have a single duvet, pillow, mattress protector, fitted sheet, desk and chair, bookcase, notice board and coat hooks.

Please bring with you a duvet cover and pillow case and your own towels. Breakfast and a 3 course evening meal will be provided and you will have access to a laundry room.

Your pastoral care is very important to us and Oak House has two live-in House Parents who will help you settle into life in Taunton, and with your studies at Huish.

Homestay Accommodation

Homestay accommodation is a popular choice for those students experiencing the UK for the first time. We will only place you with families who regard you as a member of their household and who will help you integrate into life in the UK.

We take great care in matching you to the right family and all families have Criminal Record Checks carried out by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Your Homestay family will welcome you to the UK and give you a truely unique experience of British culture and family life.

Living with a UK family will not only provide you with security and support but will also help you to learn a new culture and improve your English lanuguage skills.

They have been very supportive and nice to me, I feel like I am part of their family.

Jeffrey, Hong Kong student in Homestay accomodation

We enjoy hosting students from the college and feel we are providing them with a warm and family-like environment. We hope they leave with good memories and experiences of an English family.
