I am sure that you are by now all aware of the government announcement yesterday evening around school / college closures from this Friday and the cancellation of the summer exams series.

We wanted to reassure you that we will keep in close contact with you in the coming days to provide more information as we receive further details from the Department for Education. We know that you will have many questions and are likely to be feeling understandably anxious about what this all means for you or your young person. Please try not to worry, we will work closely together to support all of our students to progress where they want to go in the future.

Irrespective of the situation around the external exams, it is really important that all students continue to work with us and their teachers / assessors to further their education and development. Staff will be continuing, as best they can, to teach remotely and setting tasks and work to complete.

Whilst the majority of the campus will be closed from Monday we will endeavour to keep the Learning Centre open between 9am to 1pm, where students will be able to use or collect resources that they do not have access to at home.

We wanted to remind you that there are lots of support materials and guidance on our Huish Health and Wellbeing page https://moodle2.richuish.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=1158 to help students during what we know is a very difficult time.

With very best wishes from all of the staff at Huish,

John Abbott and Emma Fielding
