We are aware that you will have heard a lot in the press yesterday about how the Government have decided to set A Level, GCSE and Vocational results this summer. We wanted to reassure you that some of the soundbites from the press unfortunately do not give a full or accurate picture of how the process will work and may be making many students feel unnecessarily anxious.
Please be reassured that there will be no changes in the coming weeks to the usual ways in which your teachers assess your progress in and outside of lessons.
When the detailed documents are released to schools and colleges, which we expect in the coming days, we will take great care to look at all of the guidance and options to make the very best decisions for Huish students. We don’t yet know what the specifics of this will look like, but will keep you updated and informed as soon as we possibly can.
In the meantime, please try not to worry. You are in very safe and experienced hands and as a college we did a fantastic job for our students last summer and will do the same for you too. The best thing you can do is continue to attend and engage in your lessons as usual and your teachers will let you know, with lots of notice, if there are any different types of assessment in the future that you may need to prepare for.
I am sure that you will understandably have lots of questions. Please can we ask you to give us time to analyse the detailed Government guidance when it arrives, as we are unlikely to be able to give you definite answers until this point.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Take really good care and we really look forward to seeing you very soon.
Emma, Sarah and Becky
