The Richard Huish Education Group are pleased to announce that Cameron Mann has been appointed as Headteacher of West Buckland Primary School from September 2020.
Cameron is currently Head of Upper School at Stoke Hill Junior School in Exeter, having previously worked at Thurlbear Primary School, and will take over from current Head, Helen MacGregor, who has served in the role for thirteen years.
Cameron recently completed his National Professional Qualification for Headship and brings a high level of educational understanding, strong leadership skills and ambition for West Buckland Primary School and the opportunities for collaboration presented by The Richard Huish Education Group.
Speaking of his appointment, Cameron said, “I am delighted to be the new Headteacher at West Buckland and am really looking forward to meeting and working with everyone from September. To me, West Buckland, is a really good school, one with a strong community feel and a positive ethos. The opportunities it provides children was a big factor for me; I look forward to continuing all the great things it already has to offer, as well as bringing a few new ideas. I have a passion for the wider curriculum and have strong beliefs around learning for life and preparing children to be the best they can in today’s modern world.”
During the interview process Cameron impressed panels of West Buckland Governors and staff together with Senior Leaders and Directors from The Richard Huish Education Group, with his passion, commitment to learning and child centred approach. Commenting on behalf of the West Buckland Governors, Chair Kate Langford said, “I would like to congratulate Cameron on his appointment and welcome him to West Buckland Primary School.”
