Huish Men's Rugby
Richard Huish College’s Men’s Rugby team are preparing for one of the biggest games of their time at the College. The team captained by Jamie Guest have qualified for the National Quarter Finals of the AoC Sport League after they finished runners up in the South West Premier Rugby League. The boys will travel to Coleg y Cymoedd on Wednesday 6th March looking to pick up a famous victory.
Wednesday will be the first time that the rugby team at Richard Huish have qualified for the final 8 of the National League following an extremely successful season. The team who play in the South West Premier Rugby League finished as runners up to Exeter College following convincing victories against several local Colleges including Weston, Bridgwater and Taunton and Truro College.
The game in Wales will be one of the teams toughest assignments yet as they face the Welsh outfit which boasts numerous Cardiff Blues Academy players and several Welsh Internationals. Sport Development Manager Connor Sidley-Adams said “Rugby has always been one of the strongest sports here at the College, however this is the first time that the Men’s Rugby team have qualified for this stage of competition in our history. The boys are an extremely close knit group and embody everything that we are doing as a Sport department, they deserve every single bit of success that they have achieved.”
