Reporting an absence
Absence due to illness
If you are absent from College due to illness or a medical appointment, you or your parent must telephone the College each day that you are absent. Call 01823 320 800 and leave a message on the sickness line or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have Covid-19 symptoms (high temperature, a new continuous cough or a loss of change to your sense of taste/smell) you must not come into College. In addition to reporting your illness to Reception please call the NHS on 111 for the latest advice.
Absence unrelated to sickness
If your absence is not due to illness/medical appointment or a College organised trip/activity, it must be approved in advance by the College to be marked ‘College Approved.’
In the event of an unscheduled College closure (e.g. due to weather conditions), notifications will be sent via the Huish social media channels, local radio and an announcement will be posted on our homepage.
