Trips and Visitors
To enhance your studies we regularly welcome visitors to Huish to share their life experiences and you can participate on trips to gain your own experiences first-hand.

Trips
There is nothing like adventuring into the world for yourself to enhance your understanding of a subject or broaden your experience.
We run a great variety of trips that range from quick outings to Vivary Park to capture images to travelling internationally to immerse yourself in the culture, history and environment of a new place. Many opportunities are without cost and we aim to offer many affordable options, trips further afield are usually scheduled for the second year to allow you more time to save for these.
Below is a small gallery of some of our past trips.
RICHTalks
Taking place at lunchtimes, RICHTalks are open to all students to attend in our Redwood Theatre. Staff and visiting experts deliver talks on a topic of interest followed by a Q&A session.
Past guests have included Rufus Mitchell-Heggs, who as part of the Enginoars is attempting to row the Atlantic Ocean, Dr Alex Cross and Phil Carrotte of Antarctic Quest 21 who have completed an expedition to the Antarctic to study climate change, and Matt Chorley, famed political journalist and The Times Radio host.

Subject Talks
Our teachers regularly invite subject experts and former students into the classroom to share their advice and industry knowledge with you. We will also encourage you to take part in competitions and challenges run by external agencies.
From designing branding for real companies to creating events for local charities, having interview practice with hospital consultants to learning teamwork from Army Officers, there are lots of opportunities that await you.
