We have a number of buses from many different places that come directly to Richard Huish College, with other routes stopping just a short walk away.
You may wish to purchase the Somerset County Council 2017/18 Love the Bus County Ticket. This ticket is valid for 12 months and can be used seven days a week (college holidays as well), on all journeys that start and/or finish within the administrative borders of Somerset. For students who live out of County, provided you start or finish your journey within the boundaries of Somerset, you are free to travel on any bus route available using this ticket.
To apply for the Love the Bus County Ticket you will need to apply online directly to Somerset County Council at www.somerset.gov.uk/countyticket. For terms and conditions of the new Love the Bus County Ticket please download the pdf document below.
Applications will be dealt with in chronological order by the received date and providing you have either paid in full or sent in a valid direct debit mandate, it should take no longer than 15 working days.
Love the Bus County Ticket

Is the County Ticket your only ticket option for transport? No, all bus operators offer a range of daily tickets and most can also offer various types of season tickets at a discounted rate. We would strongly advise you to check your options with the various bus operators to ensure the County Ticket is the most appropriate ticket for your individual needs.
Richard Huish College offers a transport contribution of £100 to all students in receipt of the County Ticket on the 1st November 2017. It is not necessary to apply for this contribution as we receive information from Somerset County Council direct.

For students whose household income falls below £32,000 per annum you may wish to apply for additional financial support with course costs and the cost of the Love the Bus County Ticket through the Discretionary Bursary scheme.

Transport notice 2017
All students in receipt of the County Ticket will receive the College Transport Contribution of £100 on the 15th December 2017. This will be paid directly to the bank account given to us on registration day.

Students in receipt of the College Discretionary Bursary are not eligible for this contribution.
Bike Loan Scheme
Somerset County Council run a programme offering low cost mountain bikes to students living in Somerset who are attending a full-time further education course and would be able to get to college by bike more easily than by bus or walking. Wheels 2 Work moped scheme
Coastline Wheels 2 Work offers affordable moped transport within the Somerset area. Everyone over the age of 16 can use the scheme to access job opportunities, education and recreation from £26 per week.
The basic package includes: Fully comprehensive insurance, road tax and servicing. Compulsory basic training is available to those who need it and a rider package is included in your start up costs.
