Trips and Visitors

To enhance your studies we regularly welcome visitors to Huish to share their life experiences and you can also participate in trips to gain your own experiences first-hand.

Trips

There is nothing like adventuring into the world for yourself to enhance your understanding of a subject or broaden your experience.

We run a great variety of trips that range from quick outings to Vivary Park to capture images to travelling internationally to immerse yourself in the culture, history and environment of a new place. Many opportunities are without cost and we aim to offer many affordable options. Trips further afield are usually scheduled for the second year to allow you more time to save for these.

Below is a small gallery of some of our past trips.

Visitors

We regularly invite subject experts and former students into the classroom to share their advice and industry knowledge with you. We will also encourage you to take part in competitions and challenges run by external agencies.

From designing branding for real companies to creating events for local charities, and having interview practice with hospital consultants to learning teamwork from Army Officers, there are lots of opportunities that await you.

Recent visitors have included:

  • Twenty-five medics from Musgrove Park Hospital
  • Norland Nanny Darcey Faulkner, former Huish student
  • HR professionals from Milsted Langdon
  • The Taunton Chamber of Commerce (for Huish’s Dragon’s Den panel)
  • Police officers, barristers and clinical psychologists for a Criminology careers event
  • Over sixty employers and universities for CareerFest
Richard Huish College Dragons Den Panel 2024
