Huish is proud to recognise the outstanding achievements of 43 Biology students who participated in the prestigious Intermediate Biology Olympiad at the end of the summer term.

Organised by the Royal Society of Biology, the Olympiad is a national competition that challenges students with advanced problem-solving tasks designed to test their understanding and application of biological concepts. With over 17,000 students from across the UK taking part, Huish students’ results are particularly impressive:

A Gold Award was awarded to Luke Barrington, placing him in the top 5% nationally.

Silver Awards were awarded to Freya Burnell, Holly Britton, Emily Howells, Alex Longley, Amelia Douglas, Daisy Williams, Bess Litchfield and Chloe Johnson, placing them in the top 10% across the Olympiad.

12 students received Bronze Awards for their strong performance: Erin Regan, Rian Regan, Ashvik Linu Varghese, Rachel Van Rooyen, Dolly Edwards, Lillie Hudson, Mathilda Guild, Millie Powell, Alwand Jabbar, Phoebe Woollcott-Pope, Alexis Bulloso and Poppy Doney.

Ten students were Highly Commended: Poppy Chedzoy-Wilkins, Evin Biju, Keane Rodrigues, Zoe Templer, Isabella Gilmore, Jack Harper, Izzy Webber, Sasha Movchan, Ethan Keal and Cristina Cijan.

Three students were Commended for their efforts: Ellie Thompson, Parsa Khawaja and Emmi Owens.
