Peter Allinson, Chief Executive at Davitt Jones Bould
Huish was proud to host the Davitt Jones Bould Real Estate Careers Event this week, enabling more than two hundred students to explore the wide-ranging career opportunities available within the real estate sector via direct access to professionals across law, surveying, planning, development and construction.
Now in its second year, the event was delivered in partnership with Davitt Jones Bould (DJB), a national specialist law firm, and supported by Real Estate Balance, an organisation committed to improving diversity and inclusion within the property industry.
Highlights included a Q & A panel session with Dr Peter Allinson (Chief Executive at DJB), Lizzie Collin (Marketing Manager at DJB and Huish alumna) and Richard Bate (Partner at DJB), employer-led workshops with David Spence of JLL, Tom Woolmer of Reading University and Chris Kerr (Head of ESG at DJB), and a ‘speed networking’ initiative where students could engage with representatives from Davitt Jones Bould, Summerfield and BTG Eddisons.
Davitt Jones Bould’s motivation for the Real Estate Exhibition was clear:
- To showcase the breadth of roles available within the real estate sector
- To highlight the key skills and attributes employers are seeking
- To ensure students understand that real estate is an open and accessible industry for people of all backgrounds
…and the event did just that, acting as a great platform for students to discover more about the wide range of career pathways and training routes available to them.
A special thank you goes to Davitt Jones Bould for their commitment in bringing this valuable event to life once again. Huish would also like to extend its thanks to all the organisations and professionals who generously contributed their time and expertise to support and inspire our students.
