Year 2 Classical Civilisation students recently returned from an unforgettable trip to Greece, where they explored some of the most iconic locations of the ancient world.
The group began their journey in Athens, taking in the breathtaking sight of the Parthenon and exploring world‑renowned collections at the National Archaeological Museum. A boat trip to the picturesque island of Aegina offered a change of pace – along with the chance to sample the island’s famously delicious pistachios.
In Olympia, students stepped into history itself, racing along the original ancient race track used for sporting competitions since 776 BCE. The trip then continued to Delphi, where students travelled into the mountains to visit the legendary sanctuary of Apollo.
From temples and museums to dramatic landscapes and ancient stadiums, the visit provided an inspiring insight into classical history and the lasting legacy of ancient Greek culture.
