Huish celebrated Earth Day with a wide range of activities organised by the Student Sustainability Society, encouraging students and staff to take positive action for the planet.
Earth Day is a global event focused on protecting the environment and promoting sustainability. The occasion was marked with activities taking place across campus throughout the day.
Initiatives include a a litter pick on Willow Green, vegan chocolate and cheese tasting, a stand offering free period pants, and sustainability pledges (with participants entered into a raffle draw at the Spring Concert). On top of all this, a Repair Workshop in the Redwood Suite saw students able to patch repair coats and other items.
Thank you to Azengear for kindly providing the free repair patches, and to the Student Sustainability Society and supporting staff for delivering such a successful and engaging Earth Day.
It was fantastic to see so many people getting involved and helping to build a more Sustainable Huish!
