On Wednesday the 20th of May, 25 current and former students headed to Buckingham Palace to attend the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Celebration.
Accompanied by Becky Flower (Vice Principal), Cath Clark and Paul Sainsbury (DofE Coordinators), the day felt extra special as 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the awards.
Smartly dressed and proudly wearing their DofE Gold Award badges, the Huish team joined over a thousand other participants in Buckingham Palace Garden to share memories of their DofE experiences, all whilst enjoying afternoon tea, speeches and games.
Cath Clark summed up the celebratory atmosphere: “Sometimes your day from start to finish is pretty magical and Wednesday 20th of May was one of those for me…it was simply an amazing day”.
What a great way to round off this half term. Huge congratulations to all Huish DofE participants past and present.
