Uniformed Protective Services students recently had the experience of a lifetime when they had a tour of the HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft carrier.
10 students had an early start as they headed off to HM Naval Base Portsmouth, home of the HMS Queen Elizabeth.
The ship is the biggest aircraft carrier the UK has ever had – you could park 4 Boeing 747 jumbo jets on the flight deck. Its electrical system could power 300,000 kettles, and on board is has 28,000 light bulbs!
After a tour around the ship, which included the control room and the top of the ramp on the flight deck, students were then free to walk around the Royal Navy careers event held inside the ship’s hangar.
A brilliant, inspiring day was had by all!
