CARING FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
LEVEL 2: Online Course
EXAMINING BODY: NCFE CACHE
This free online course is ideal for those working in the care sector who want to further their personal and professional development by understanding more about caring for children and young people, including the risks of abusive and exploitative behaviour that some children experience.
Complete the online resources to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
All children and young people deserve to be safe and well cared for within a safe and protective family. However, unfortunately this is not always the case; there are over 50,000 children identified as needing protection from abuse in the UK. Knowing what strategies are used to protect them from this behaviour, whilst following procedures, is essential to helping those affected.
This course will improve your understanding of the importance of correctly responding to evidence or concerns, and enable you to evidence your competency to employers.
You will learn about the following topics:
- caring for young children in a babysitting environment
- accident prevention and fire safety when babysitting
- rights and responsibilities in relation to parenting
- parenting and healthy lifestyles
How quickly you progress is up to you but typically learners take approximately 12-16 weeks to complete the qualification using the online resources.
Support is available throughout the course from your Assessor should you want advice and guidance.
The qualification will be fully funded (free to you) if you meet the following criteria:
- You must be aged 19 years or over at the beginning of the academic year
- You must permanently reside in the UK
- You must have lived in the EU/UK for 3 years
- You must earn less than £25,000 per annum
- Eligibility is subject to postcode location – contact us for further details.
