This free online course is ideal for those working in adult health and social care settings looking to understand more about safeguarding and further their own personal and professional development. Complete the online resources to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

The responsibilities of care workers involved in protecting the health, wellbeing and human rights of individuals are far reaching. Allowing individuals to live free from harm, abuse and neglect can often mean involving health agencies, government departments, or the police.

Understanding the fundamentals of safeguarding is essential for anyone working in adult health and social care, and this course will help you to do this.

You will learn:

  • to understand safeguarding in adult health and social care
  • the principles of dignity in adult health and social care practice
  • to understand duty of care in adult health and social care
  • to understand dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care

The qualification will be fully funded (free to you) if you meet the following criteria:

  • You must be aged 19 years or over at the beginning of the academic year
  • You must permanently reside in the UK
  • You must have lived in the EU/UK for 3 years
  • You must earn less than £25,000 per annum
