This free online course is ideal for adults looking to further their personal and professional development within an adult health and social care setting. Complete the online resources to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
The need for adult social care continues to rise at a time when the system supporting that care is rapidly and significantly changing. With around 1.5 million people working in Adult & Social Care in England, care workers need up-to-date support and guidance in order to provide adequate person-centred care.
This course will teach you how to handle hazardous substances and medication, and you will be able to evidence your competency to employers.
You will learn:

- the principles of diversity, equality and inclusion
- the principles of safeguarding and protection
- an introduction to duty of care
- to understand the roles of the Social Care Worker
- to understand person-centred approaches
- to understand health and safety
- to understand how to handle information
How quickly you progress is up to you but typically learners take approximately 12-16 weeks to complete the qualification using the online resources.
Support is available throughout the course from your Assessor should you want advice and guidance.
The qualification will be fully funded (free to you) if you meet the following criteria:
- You must be aged 19 years or over at the beginning of the academic year
- You must permanently reside in the UK
- You must have lived in the EU/UK for 3 years
- You must earn less than £25,000 per annum
