On Tuesday the 11th of November, the Huish community came together for a poignant Remembrance Day service.
The ceremony provided a chance for staff and students alike to reflect on, and honour, the role of servicepeople and the emergency services today and in the past, as well as all those who have lost their lives due to conflict or terrorism.
Becky Flower, Vice Principal of Student Experience, opened the service with a poetry reading, before Kelvin Edwards, Uniformed Protective Services (UPS) Course Coordinator, reminded us why we come together to mark Armistice Day.
This was followed by a reading from Max Gillard, UPS student, and a solo trumpet performance of the Last Post by music student Lucy Pitchfork. The ceremony concluded with a two-minute silence.
Thank you to all participants and attendees for taking the time out of their schedules (in the wet weather!) to join the Huish community in paying tribute on this important day.
