Richard Huish College hosted a well attended Earth Science Careers Fair, bringing together leading organisations from across the environmental, geoscience and sustainability sectors.

The event offered students a valuable opportunity to learn about the wide range of careers connected to Earth Sciences and to speak directly with industry professionals about real world roles, entry routes and developing skills for future employment.

Representatives from the following organisations took part:

UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO)
Hinkley Point
Ricardo
Met Office
CGL Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental
Somerset Wildlife Trust
Forestry England
Tarmac
Jackson Geo Services
Campbell Reith
Binnies
Geckoella
University of Exeter

With expertise spanning climate science, conservation, geotechnical engineering, hydrographic surveying, environmental consultancy and more, exhibitors helped students gain a deeper understanding of potential pathways across the sector.

The event encouraged students to explore different roles, ask questions, and reflect on how their individual interests might align with emerging careers in Earth Sciences.

This Careers Fair forms part of Huish’s ongoing commitment to connecting students with employers and supporting them in making confident, informed decisions about their futures.

Prospective students interested in Geology, Environmental Science, or Geography can learn more about studying these subjects at Huish by attending the Open Event on 29th April.
